Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

My Daughter had emergency surgery in 2008.

A collection agency/law firm just sent us a note saying we never paid a particular Dr for services rendered and they are taking us to court. They sent us a copy of the bill, which seem authentic, that shows 2 Drs (from same practice)that rendered service and 1 of them was paid.

1-we have never been sent a bill from this Dr. that was not paid (they say we were sent 3)

2-I called the insurance company they have no record of any filing or rejecting a bill from the other Dr (from the same practice).

3-I paid all my co-pays from this event and insurance is to pay everything else.

Can I be held liable for a bill that was never filed, or filed incorrectly?

How should I respond to these people?

Thanks for your time.

First, contact your insurance company and submit the bill to them. Second, send your insurance information to the lawfirm. Third, if that does not work, see a consumer lawyer. See www.ConsumerLawyerHelp.com for assistance.
