Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
I had to take my daughter to the ER 2 years ago and gave them all of my information, including my insurance card. I received a bill a few months later and followed up to ensure that they had the correct insurance information, which they confirmed that they did. A full year later, a collections account showed up on my credit report for the bill. After investigating this matter, the hospital admitted that they had sent the bill to the wrong insurance company. They refuse to take responsibility for their error and I now have two collections accounts open in relation to the bill which has damaged my credit immensely. I have gone through the proper channels of dispute to no resolution. What are my options at this point?

File suit against your insurance company and the hospital for not making the payment.
In order to clear up your credit report, you need to report the error to the credit bureaus under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. If it is not resolved properly, see a consumer lawyer who handles these matters. You have a dead winner. See www.ConsumerLawyerHelp.com
