Day Care Provider Contract

Our day care provider had us sign a contract that said we had to give her two weeks notice and had to pay her whether our child was there our not. We did not give her notice and we removed our child. She was paid in full for all service except the two weeks after our childs removal which she is now demanding. We beleive she breached the contract first by not providing a refund on a day she closed her day care due to an illness with her child. Are we obligated to pay her the two weeks notice?
