Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Debt Collection

I have several questions to ask. First off, they deposited a postdated check twice. Due to this, I had a bounced check fee and was charged for $25 each time by my bank. They said they would take those from my account balance and they still yet to do so after 6 months. Don't they need to correct my account? Second, in their statement, $600.+ increase in my balance. I called them, but they cannot explain why. They said $275 was for court cost. I called the county court house and they don't have anything for me. They said they would take it off but they would not take it off my account. And third question is I want a detailed print out of my account with them. Are they required by law to give this to me because they said they have never been asked to do so before? And they have never returned any of my phone calls, never! And last question, they have threatened to call off the deal with me and take me to court. Can they do this, even though I have been making payments on time since the time we agreed on the deal? This is in Florida with a law firm. Please any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Since the check was deposited before the agreed upon date, they should be responsible for the fees charged by your bank. The law firm cannot charge out of pocket expenses that do not exist. If you believe there are irregularities with your account, you can file a complaint with the Florida Bar.
