I had a debt collector show up at my work acting like a process server

First, make sure they are not truly a process server. If you got served a Complaint and Summons, you have 20 days to file an Answer. If the person is truly a collector, they are likely in violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collections Act and Florida Law.
