I defaulted on a 5,000 loan in 1999, The bank changed owners 3 times, and my debt was sold to a firm who is taking me to court. I am on disability, and own a 1996 truck. Can they take my vehicle and garnish my Social Security?

They had five years to file an action against you. Did they obtain a judgment and if they did, did they renew it. You may be exempt from having to pay anything on this. Just DON'T be tricked into making any payment because if you do the time tolls again. they may be hoping to get you this way. Look at the consumer lawyer help that Mr. Marino has offered. He is very good at what he does.
