Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I have discovered that I have a judgement against me but I was never served with any supoena to come to court. I called the judges office and his seceretary looked it up and told me that "an unknown Jane Doe was served", and that it was very strange (I am a single male) on many levels. She said I would need to hire an attorney to look into it. This has been several years ago and no one has made any efforts that I am aware of to collect the money. I am trying to buy a house and my bank said I would have to resolve this first. I don't want to pay a debt I don't owe so what are my options if any? Thanks for your time!
