Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

education grant

I have been married for 2+ years. My husband has $90,000 in debt for educational loans that he accumulated before we were married. He is in default. This has just come to my attention! We filed taxes jointly for the past two years, but I have separate bank accounts and a good job. He is presently unemployed , 61 yrs old and needing dental work and hearing aids. He is trying to prove hardship to the collection agency that has assumed his case. They want my social and my signature. I want no responsibility for his previous debts. What should we do?
