Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
I entered into a lease for one year for an apartment with a friend. Friend moved out in December and paid half rent and utilities until March. He didn't pay April May or June. Lease is up July 31st. I sued in small claims. When he found out about the suit he sent a threatening text, so I changed the locks. He paid up the rent through june, but still owes half the utilities. He now wants a key to the apartment since he is on the lease. He has no belongings there, only my things. Do I have to give him a key? There is no reason for him to be there unless he wants to mess with my stuff or set me up, which I think is what he wants to do.

I believe I would take the text message to the police dept and get a restraining order or go the domestic violence unit and get an injunction for protection against this person. I believe his threat is enough to warrant an injunction. I would not give him a key.
