Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I was evicted before i could move,i was arrested,when i got out of jail my landlord took my car and wont give back to me until i pay what is owed .Is this legal?

Those are my questions. Secondly, he can't take the car. He would need to file for an execution, havethe sheriff take it and if there are no liens on it, then auction it off. I believe I would file a theif charge against him. Get a lawyer.
