Freeze bank accounts

If a judgement is entered against a person, is it possible for both their personal account and their corporate bank account to be frozen, or is the corporate account not affected?

Re: Freeze bank accounts

The ability to attach property and garnish accounts depends on the names of the defendant or defendants in the judgment. If the defendant is a person, then the plaintiff can only go after property (including bank accounts) in the name of that person. For instance, if it is in the name of Husband (who is married) and they attempt to go after property in the name of both Husband and Wife - not allowed.

As to corporate accounts - the company must be one of the defendants to go after its property.

Best of luck.
