Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I have friends, one of the couple had a gambling problem. they cashed checks at the casino by signing their spouse's name. as a result, alot of money was lost. is the gaming facility liable for cashing the checks, as the person was not in the right frame of mind or is their financial instituion for paying on the checks? Or is suing the casino a moot point?

Waste of time, in my opinion. If it was a fraudulent check, the bank is responsible for the loss, but -- of course -- you would need to report the crime and the person who defrauded the casino would be subject to charges and criminal prosecution.
