Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Garnishment of a joint bank account

I have a judgement against my maiden name, and attempted to pay monthly by automatic withdrawal thru my bank account. They never took it out. I again set it up to send payments, but couldn't send anything yet. My husband went to use the account, as it is a joint account, and found that it was frozen, and all was taken out execpt for $3.00. Can they take all of our money, and can they take it from him when it was under my maiden name?

Re: Garnishment of a joint bank account

Baesed upon what you say, you should consult with counsel and bring an action to quash the garnishment and recover the funds improperly taken.
