Garrishing wages
7 year old credit company debt collecting through a National recovery service can they at this time garrnish my wages. I have ask for a dispute on this matter and documentation to back up charges. I have not been given anything. They call me at work and keep telling me they are processing litigation for garrishment agaist me. Can they do this. I am sure this debt has been written off by cross country.

The company may collect on a debt even though it has been charged off. However, if the contract is over 5 to 6 years old they may be subject to the statute of limitations to collect on a contract for breach of contract. Your legal defenses depend heavily on the nature of the action filed against you.
