Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Harassing Debt Collector

Several months ago we recieved a call from a Rental Company stating we owed $1800 toward a bill.....a few of the items we believed were paid off but the new manager stated that old mangager was fired because he wasn't doing the right things there. He said that $375 had to be paid that day for a returned check or he'd prosecute so we paid over the phone with a debit card immediately for the check and charges $425. We brought back 2 of the 4 items back as they would fit in my car to return them...he said he'd work something out on the bed and chair (which we thought was paid for). A few weeks later we decided we didn't want the other items and asked him to pick up merchandise, he relentlessly began calling our office and I asked him to stop, so I wouldn't loose my job. Again, a month later he called saying he was going to prosecute again because I hadn't paid for the check but for back rent....and I again asked him to pick up his stuff (this went on for 3.5 mos.) This weekend his employees again called the restraunts I inspect and told supervisors that they were looking for me and that this time next week I would no longer be thier field rep, I'd be in jail. Do I have to be victim to this? Can anyone help??
