Harassment by collection agency

Is there anything I can do to make the collection company to stop calling my neighbors and revealing my personal matters with them?. I was recently contacted by a neighbor who told me that they had been calling her many times a day to tell her about my personal account with them. And the account is only $2500 past due since january. All I want is to know if they have the right to reveal personal matters that have caused me public humiliation with people who don't have anything to do with it. Please help.

Contact an attorney in your area who handles Fair Debt Collection cases. They have violated such and can be sued for such violation.
