Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I'm a high school teacher of 12 years and was accused of using student information to apply for credit cards via my home computer. Not only did I not do it, I don't have access to student's info (SS# are illegal to use) and the postal inspector called me in to say 1) they have applications going to my address 2) that my computer was used. They provided NO proof, only that I work at the same place where these students attend school. The majority are not even my students. I don't think any credit cards were even issued, just applications via the net. What should I do?

Contact a lawyer immediately! The postal inspector's office just isn't a bunch of guys who deliver the mail, they are the equivalent to the FBI, and in some ways more powerful. They are a criminal enforcement agency, and they carry badges (or, at least, ID cards), guns, handcuffs, etc. It's possible that they are investigating you for mail fraud, one of the most serious federal crimes. You should not speak to them without a lawyer present.
