Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
My husband has a contract & indebtness judgement from a 2nd mortgage that was held by the homeowner on our old house that we had to short sell because of financial burden. things are starting to look up and we are considering buying a home, but one to know what options we would have around this 40k judgement. The judgement is against him, but not me.

Your husband should consider bankruptcy. This will allow him to discharge this debt. If the debt is only in his name, you will not need to file with your husband. Most bankruptcy attorneys offer a free consult. It is always best to know all your options.
