Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Husband's Car was taken for missing 3 payments

My husband had rented his truck - signed the lease before we got married. Then the lease was up and he signed the agreement to buy it out. My name was never on any of the agreements. Currently he does not have a job and can not afford his truck payments. I can not afford them either that is why he has missed 3 payments and his truck was ripped.

What shall I do? I told him to call them and make arrangements for lower payment we can afford - current payment was $500/month. He did not want to as he does not have money to give them. He did not contact them after the truck was taken away either.

Please advise what I can do about it now to minimize financial consequences?

If you weren't on the loan, it won't affect your credit, only his. He may be able to contact them and offer to make payments on the deficiency (the amount left over on the loan after they sell it), so that he doesn't get sued.
