Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
My husbands job moved us 500 miles from home, then laid him off. He has been out of work for almost a year now and we can barely eat, or pay the bills. Im afraid we are going to lose our home. We have small children and no where to go. I have found a lending company online that has approved us for a loan that would really save us. Since we lost our truck months ago, we managed to buy a car, but with the laws in FL it is to much for us to register it. So we cannot drive it. Our landlord literaly takes every penny we have coming in. We've had to live without power, water. Its really bad. And we are unable to drive to look for any job that may be available. Anyway the company's name is Dayspring Loans, They are out of country, and say that according to lending policy 174/UR, every approved applicant out of the country must pay a down payment of a certain percentage which would total to $280.00 for a $5000.00 loan. I am really hoping you tell me this is a legit legal clause and I must pay it. But my gut tells me that it's just another scam. Things are so unbelievably difficult right now that I may not have very good judgement. If it's a scam and I give them $280.00 (my rent money) I will lose our home. But the idea of $5000.00, is clouding my judgement. Can you please tell me if this company is legit?

Unfortunately, this smells like a scam. Contact the attorney general's office of the state of Florida and do a google search of this company. Keep in mind that it is very easy to set up a bogus website. Sorry. I am just saying be very careful. My website under links will help you. Want to know the law? This is a scam. If you are financially unable to support yourself, please contact the Catholic Charities and ask for help. They can help you get your truck registered and get you on the right path.
