First of all, I am not sure what this lawyer is doing for you. If the bank is suing you for the money through a collection agency, then send them $l.00 every now and then to appease them. The pretrial conference you should have gone to in order to mitigate your damages. All you would have had to do was appear and tell the judge yes you owed the money and no you don't have it and could they offer a reduction by mitigating the damages. Sounds like to me your free lawyer is soon going to want some money for his services.
