Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Judgement On Credit Card

I became unemployed a year and a half ago due to epilepsy. My husband's pay covers our monthly expenses to support us and three children. We tried to keep up with the card, but couldn't. We explained this to the company that when I got back to work we would pay the debt, but they have turned it over to a lawyer that now is wanting to garnish my husband's wages sinc we own no property. Where do we stand with garnishment, because we barely survive now?

Re: Judgement On Credit Card

You should consult with competent counsel. The salary may very well be exempt from garnishment.
