Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Judgement
in 2003 i was delievered a summons
for credit card debt that went unpaid.
at the time i was living in new york.
about 4 months later i moved to
florida for work. about a year ago i
looked at my credit report and saw
nothing on it pertaining to this
account. recently i checked the
report again and noticed a judgement
from this account. it has been
almost 4-5 years and i have not
received any letter about this
judgement. because i am out of
state how should i handle this? can
the creditor still come after me from
out of state?does the judgement that
was awarded collect interest? who
do i pay? can i make monthly
payments? please help

Re: Judgement
The judgment collects interest. Once they domesticate the judgment in Florida, they can attempt to collect. If you want to try to arrange to pay it off, retain counsel familiar with the procedure.
