Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Judgement/lien on Homstead Property

Can a creditor for an unsecured credit card put a lien on my homesteaded property? He as already threatened to do so if I do not pay a specific amount he is requesting. Please advise me as soon as possible, because I am under the impression that he cannot do that.

Re: Judgement/lien on Homstead Property

No. No liens can be placed on your homestead if legally declared as your homestead under Florida law. The creditor is either bluffing or ignorant of the applicable laws. Your home is judgment proof.
