Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Do lawyers have to tell you their prices beforehand? I went to a lawyer who told me she would prepare some papers for me for $175. When I got the bill it was for $525. This was my first time going to a lawyer and she did not tell me her hoourly rate or that she would charge me to mail the papers to me. Is there anything I can do?

Yes, you are entitled to know what the hourly rate is before your hire the lawyer. You need to go and complain to her. Was there a written agreement (I hope)?
