Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Is it leagal for a doctor charge 36% interest on balance due per year?

I agreed to pay the balance of my medical bill in full. By monthly payments of 25.00 per month. My doctor agreed in writing to this. I have never been late on any of these payments. However now 2yrs later he is going to charge 3% per month on balance due. Which is equal to 36% interest per year. Is this legal? Can my doctor change the amount of agreed upon payment by adding interest charges. In the middle of the payment period. Do I have any leagle recourse?

Based upon your statement of facts, it is improper to charge interest at the rate of 36% per anum. I suggest you contact me or another attorney to protect your rights.
