Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

What happens if my leased car has been charged off by the auto company due to an accumulation of late and non-payments, but I have yet to return the car because I am out of state? I live in Florida but currently work in Alaska, and will not be returning to Florida for a few months. At that time, I intend to return the car to the dealership where it was purchased. It has been well over a year since anyone has contacted me regarding this car.

Charging or writing off the debt is an accounting entry which does not affect

your legal liability for the debt, right of owner to repossess, effect on your credit

rating, or other adverse effects.
