Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
I lost my job several months ago. My house in in foreclosure and I living in a small mobile home purchased for $5000.00. (the last of my money). I have personal credit card debt of around $28,000.00 from a small business I had tried to keep afloat - that is closed now. I just received a Default Judgement from the court for the Plaintiff Debt Collection Agency who bought the credit card debt from Bank of America. There are personal finance pages I must fill out and return to the court. I own an older car and have no other assest except for my trailer. I have hired a bankruptcy attorney, but I still owe him $1,000.00. With no job it will take me a long time to get the fees paid to actually file the bankruptcy, the attorney told me not to worry about how long it takes to pay him, just make regular payments.
After I return the forms from the Plaintiff will I loose my trailer and car? Will my wages be garnished if I can find a job? Please help me, I don't know where else to turn.
