Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

mechanic's lien

I have never had to file a mechanic's lien on a client, and since they haven't paid they have put me in a financial bind.I cannot afford to pay someone to get the money that is rightfully mine. I am not sure as to what steps are necessary to file a lien on someone's property. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have had to take a personal loan to pay my bills because of lack of their payment. Could I sue them for pain and suffering?

No. There is no such thing as "pain and suffering" over a money obligation. You can only sue for the amount in question, court costs, and maybe an attorney's fee if your agreement called for it.
