Can a Hospital,one that you pay a tax to on your property taxes, make you use the unused balance to pay a hospital bill. I am disabled and we can not afford medical insurance on my wife. She had to go to the hospital. The bill is over 11,000.00. The hospital wants 189.00 a month for 5 years. We can not afford that payment. we offered a payment we could afford but the hospital was not happy with our offer. They want to use the unused balance on our credit cards. If they do that the payments on the credit cards will be so high we will not be able to pay the hospital bill at all. The balances on the cards comes no where close to the hospital bill.

I am at a loss and don't know what to do. If you can answer my question it would be appericated.

You should contact an attorney who can review the matter with you & then contact the hospital to negotiate on your behalf.
