Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
about three months ago, some payday loan company (Cutter Group) contacted me about being approved for a loan. a month after getting the loan, I lost my job due to the owner closing the business without giving us a notice. I then tried to get in contact in the payday company to explain the situation, the number were changed and they don't have a website either. Now I'm getting calls everyday from Restricted Caller that's threatening with taking me to court and having a processor server come find me. Is there anything I can do stop the everyday calling?

You are experiencing the typical harassment and pressure by debt collectors
trying to force you to pay without them taking legal action which they often won't
do because it involves time and money and often no results. Their tactics, if
calling you too often, at place of work, or at certain hours is clearly illegal.
You should report your complaint to the FL consumer complaints agency of
the FL attorney general, consumer complaints of dept of agriculture, and
any other telephone or e-mail sites you can locate to report your kind of
consumer complaint. This disgusting method of the collector is common and
also, carried too far most of the time, is illegal.
In addition to the answer given above, part of my work involves suing harassing debt collectors. I operate in and around Tallahassee. If you wish a free consultation, please call me at 850-778-1355.
