Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I got notice from my school that my financial aid was canceled and I was billed 394.28 for classes. A week later, I received a letter in the mail from a collection agency for 525.71 (including their 131.43 collection charge). How long must a creditor take before sending you to collections?

There is no time time period. Have them prove their right to a collection charge. If not in any contract, then it is not allowed and a violation of unfair business practices for which you can get attorneys fee's and costs.
