Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

right to obtain my client records

I am enrolled in a debt management program, and they have been telling assuring me they have been corresponding regularly with my creditors and several proposals have been sent. They have told me 3 times that agreements were in place with creditors and the creditors have no records. I asked the debt management company to send me a copy of my records and they said it wasn't company policy. I would like to know if I have any legal basis to demand a copy of my internal records, and if so, if there are any limitations to what I can request. Thanks.

Re: right to obtain my client records

If you are looking for copies of the letters being sent to your creditors then yes, you are entitled to see them so that you know that those letters are being sent out. Its not clear from your email what other records you are looking to obtain.

As a side note please remember that creditors are not required to work with these debt management programs.
