Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I owe some credit cards and now one of the collection firms is taking me to court so they can get paid back but i am not working at this moment. what can i do? should i go to the court hearing or not? what happens if i do not show up?

If you don't show up, you lose automatically, and they may be able to take your property, put a lien on your house or other property, garnish you when you get a job or garnish your unemployment, etc.
