Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

We were owed 20k from the Court left over from a foreclosure. A man from a company specializing in collection from courts contacted us and sent us two letters for each of our signatures - one of us sent the form in, but the other did not. I contacted the court and they said they had disbursed that half of the money to the guy.

The guy's phone number isn't working and he's not responding to email. I have already sent threatening letter via certified mail.. What's next? I live in CA so kind of a far flight to Florida.

You would have to file suit in Florida, in the county where he is located.
