can not pay back a $10,000 car loan. Already gave back the car. what can they do to me or to my house

They can sue you, possibly garnish your wages, seize things from you, put a lien on your house or, in rare circumstances, foreclose on the house to get their money, force you to appear at a deposition to disclose your income, assets, banks accounts, etc., they can put it on your credit, they can harass you, etc.. There are many things that they can do.
They can sue you; they can get a judgment. They cannot force the sale of your home, but they can get a lien on it that is collectable whenever you do sell it.
If they put the car up for auction, see a consumer lawyer who handles repo cases. More likely than not they will violate the law and you can get some one the money back.
