Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
I took out a paydayloan a few years ago and the bank account that i used was valid at the time. When the company tried to retrieve payment from that account it was over drawn. The bank account adventually closed out and the compnay was not able to recieve payment back for the loan. I was contacted by a lawyer yesterday saying that if i didnt pay them back by 4pm today they would be charging me with check fraud. can they do this? i offered to pay him 20 dollars a week and he said it wasnt worth his time.

I think there is a violation of the Fair Debt Credit Aact here and you should contact a consumer lawyer in your area I doubt it was a lawyer you spoke to also. For a consumer lawyer in your area, go to
