Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

paying credit card for deceased person

My spouse died and had a number of credit cards in his name. I notified the bank of his passing and they are hounding me for payment. I was told under FL law since I wasn't on the credit card I am not responsible. Where would I find that in order to get thes companies off my back.

You are not, his estate, if any, is.

I would modify the answer to say that if you did sign and buy with the card, you may be responsible.
