Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I have been paying a dental bill for awhile,,,,about 100 dollars per payment...For no reason ar all the oral surgeon turned it over to a collection agency when i had a balance of 150.00....i sent the collection agency the 150 dollars balance and they are telling me that I owe 80& change for the collection service....I'm 65, never had anything sent to collection.....How can they do this legally?Carol m. bulson

Mr. Bulson,

I'm sorry, but this does sound legal. If you want to not pay the collection agency, they can't make you. I believe they will not sue over $80 (filing in court is more expensive). I would tell them to take a long leap off a short pier and leave you alone. Tell them "bye now" and don't take their calls anymore. If you get sued over $80, I will be the first one to defend you.
