I have a judgement against me from a credit card company and I offered to make monthly payments , the company refused the amount and wants bi-weekly payments which i cannot afford. My question is can they refuse to take my payments ?

Yes, however send it to them anyway. They may accept it.

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then you are instructed to stop here, and do not read any further.

Of course they may refuse. With a judgment in hand, they are in the driver's seat - not you. If you are not happy with the response from the person you spoke with, ask for a supervisor or manager in the collection department and explain your finances to them. They may be more amenable to accepting a payment plan that you feel you can afford.

Re: Payment on Judgement

They can refuse, but probably will accept payment. Be careful to use a source of non -traceable funds..like a money order..else you account may be garnished.
