what penalty can a credit card company with a summmons get the judge to impose upon a credit card customer ?
If its a judgement from the court what does that entail?

You should seek a consumer lawyer in your area. Most do not charge to review the matter, and many times you can win. If you do not respond to the complaint served on you, the judge will enter a default judgement against you for the amount claimed.
