Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

phone harassment

I have just taken out a new mortgage, my first payment was received on the 3rd of the month. Mortgage company started calling me on the 2nd as to why no payment received. Is it legal for them to start harassing me so early. Payment says late fee after 17th of month. Thanx

Your payment was due on the second, so yes they can call on the 3rd. The fact they don't impose a late fee until the 17th is irrelevant.
