they treathen with civil suit if I do not pay within 10 days.

What is my defense, I am on disability live in FL now.

Should I send letter to dispute and have debt validated?

see a consumer lawyer in your area. Statute of limitations may have expired and threat of lawsuit may have violated Fair Debt Credit Act. Go to NACA website.
