Post dated checks

Can a collection angency require that I send them post dated checks to cover a 24 month period to pay off a debt turned over to them from my credit card company? Also..Can they put a lien on my house if I do not pay?

The agency can request post dated checks. If you send them, they are required to give you notice of the pending deposit. Failure to give notice is a violation of Federal law.

If your home is your homestead, then, for this purpose, it cannot be liened.
