Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Process Server Left A Note Taped To Door...

Hello,

A few days ago we came home to find a note from a process server taped to our door.

I reconized the name. The person lives a block over and we have gotten packages left on our doorstep for them before.

The note essentially said:

We are authorized by a judge to give you papers regarding your mortgage. Contact us and let us know the best time to give you the documents. [phone number here].

Is it legal for the process server to do that?

Do I have any obligation to notify my neighbor?

Thank You

Yes, its legal. You are under no obligation to give it to your neighbor, but you could at least stick it on their door, couldn't you?
