Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
quit claim deed
we have the chance to rid ourselves from a time share deed we were pressured into 10 years ago. it is hurting all our credit and they offered us a quit claim deed to be released of all past present and future liability reguarding this timeshare interest. should we sign this or is there a catch

Re: quit claim deed
Get a general release as well as the quitclaim deed. The deed separates you from the property, the release prevents anyone from suiing you if you have any outstanding obligations on the property.

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.
It is impossible to say whether or not "there is a catch" without reviewing all of the documents. It would be wise to obtain a General Release at the same time if "they" (the party) is willing to give you one and has the authority to do so.
I would strongly suggest that you have a qualified Florida real estate attorney review any documents prior to executing them in order to fully protect your interests.
