Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Hi I have received a notice to appear for a deposition at an attorneys office. They are trying to collect an old debt from about seven years ago. They took me to court many years ago and nothing else ever came from that. I am unemployed and u cannot make the high payments they are asking for. I believe the statue of limitations has expired on this debt. Do I have to show up for the deposition or can I send them a certified letter asking for proof of verification? Or should I state that the statue of limitations is up?

Thank you

Jenny

You have to show up for the deposition. If they took you to court, they probably obtained a judgment.

See a consumer lawyer. If they have a judgment, statute of limitations and verification does not apply in this situation. Go to www.ConsumerLawyerHelp.com to find a lawyer in your area by contacting NACA.
