Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I am receiving phone calls from a law service stating that the state of florida is suing me for payday loans i supposedly did not pay back. I did apply online but never received any money and was never notified of any such deposit. My prepaid visa, ( i do not own a checking account) has never had anything deposited to it.They say they cannot verify this with the card company or make any calls to find out that I am telling the truth, their only job is to notify me of this pending case. Is it possible someone took my information and took this money, but if so wouldn't they see that the money wasn't deposited to this card, and can they put a hold on my ss number without my notification. Do i need legal counsel
