Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I recently moved to florida from indiana. I just found out that I have a judgment against me in indiana from a lawsuit. I called the courts, since I had no knowledge of the suit I was never served, I was told that they dont have to serve me. the sherriff left the papers on the door of my last residence and that was good enough. But I moved out weeks before the suit was ever filed. Now they are trying to take the suit to florida and garnish my wages. I never had a chance for my side to be ever heard. What can I do?
