I recently paid off a lien against my property. The debt collector company I paid off says that I owe another debt that never showed up as a lien. They also screwed up the account numbers andcase numbers.

I assume your question is what to do now. The debt collector and not collect on a debt without having filed a claim within the time frame allowed under statute and received a judgment. Statute of Limitation is 5 years contract 4 years verbal. If the passage is over 5 years, they can not come after you. As to the lien on the property, you may have to fight city hall with them to give you the correct papers for the property that you paid off and have them correct their files. If they refuse you can sue them for unjust enrichment and possibly fraud.
